MINUTE 0–5

Plant, sell, repeat.

The moment you spawn, head to the Seed Shop (Sam) and buy the cheapest seeds you can — Carrot (1 Sheckle), Strawberry (10) and Blueberry (25). These four starters — Carrot, Strawberry, Blueberry and Tomato — are always in stock, so you never wait on a restock for them.

Plant them, wait for them to grow, then take the harvest to the Sell Stand (Steven) and sell it. Reinvest everything. Strawberry and Blueberry are multi-harvest, so they keep producing — prioritise them over Carrot once you can.

KEY IDEA

Do not hoard Sheckles early. Every coin should be buying more seeds or a better crop until your income snowballs.

BUILD INCOME

Climb to a real money crop.

Once you have a few hundred Sheckles, the best value-per-seed jump in the early game is Bamboo (700 Sheckles, base value 800). It is cheap, grows fast and holds high weights — perfect for fishing mutations while you save.

Your first big goal is Mushroom (15,000 Sheckles). It has the highest base value in the game, so a single one is a huge income spike. Save for it, buy it the moment it is in stock, and let the profits compound.

Add a sprinkler as soon as you can afford one — sprinklers add size luck, and heavier crops are worth dramatically more because value scales with weight squared.

EXPAND THE PLOT

Buy space early.

Your starting plot is small. The first expansion costs only 500 Sheckles — buy it as soon as you can fill it. More tiles means more crops growing at once, which means faster income. Do not over-expand past what you can plant, though: empty tiles earn nothing.

Always keep at least one tile free for a surprise rare seed in the shop — you do not want a 90M Dragon's Breath to appear with nowhere to plant it.

FIRST PET

Hatch for Deer, chase Golden Dragonfly.

Pets come mainly from Guild Rewards eggs. Join an active guild to start earning Common Eggs. The best early hatch is a Deer — a flat growth-speed boost that helps your whole plot.

Your first real income pet target is the Golden Dragonfly, which doubles your Gold mutation chance. It is the standard stepping stone before the end-goal Unicorn (doubles Rainbow chance).

SURVIVE NIGHT ONE

Protect what you grew.

GAG2 night gameplay

GAG2's signature mechanic is that other players can steal crops from your garden at night. Before the sky darkens: harvest anything obviously valuable, put up walls or fences to break the straight path to your best row, and keep a defensive plant or pet near it.

If you cannot stay online to defend, just sell your valuables first — banked Sheckles cannot be stolen. Read the full night defense guide and the stealing meta guide next.
