Bamboo
Overview
The best early-game value-per-Sheckle seed in the game. Cheap to buy, grows fast, and holds surprisingly high weights — the perfect crop to farm mutations on while you build a bankroll.
Bamboo is a Rare, single-harvest crop obtained from Seed Shop. Its base sell value at 1 kg is 800 Sheckles — and because value scales with weight squared, growing it heavier is the single biggest lever on your profit.
Bamboo in depth
Bamboo is the single best value-per-Sheckle seed in the early game. At just 700 Sheckles for an 800 base value, it pays for itself immediately, grows fast, and holds surprisingly high weights — which makes it the ideal crop to farm mutations on while you build a bankroll.
The strategy is volume: plant Bamboo in bulk, keep it under a sprinkler for weight, and fish for Gold and Rainbow rolls cheaply. It is single-harvest, so it is a weight-and-volume play rather than a mutation-carrier, but at its price you can afford to churn through it constantly. Almost every efficient early economy runs through Bamboo.

- Buy the seed from seed shop.
- Use higher-tier sprinklers to raise size luck — heavier crops are worth far more thanks to the weight-squared scaling.
- Being single-harvest, its mutation bonus is reduced — grow it heavy rather than relying on a huge mutation.
- Chase a high Rainbow or event mutation on it — see the full mutation list for what each multiplier is worth.
- Protect it before night — other players can steal crops from unguarded gardens.
