Mushroom
Overview
The highest base-value crop in Grow a Garden 2 and the classic early-to-mid income spike. A single mushroom out-earns almost everything cheaper, which makes it the crop most new players save their first big Sheckle pile for.
Mushroom is a Epic, single-harvest crop obtained from Seed Shop rotation. Its base sell value at 1 kg is 13K Sheckles — and because value scales with weight squared, growing it heavier is the single biggest lever on your profit.
Mushroom in depth
Mushroom sits at the top of the base-value table at 13,000 Sheckles, which makes it the crop almost every player fixates on during the mid-game. The reason is simple: at a 15,000-Sheckle seed price it pays for itself in a single good harvest, and everything after that is profit you can funnel into sprinklers and rarer seeds.
The catch is that Mushroom is single-harvest, so its mutation bonus is dampened — a Rainbow on a Mushroom is worth far less than the same Rainbow on a multi-harvest Moon Bloom. Treat Mushroom as a weight play rather than a mutation play: grow it under the best sprinkler you own to push its weight, sell it, and repeat. It is the crop that bankrolls your transition out of starter farming.

- Buy the seed from seed shop rotation.
- Use higher-tier sprinklers to raise size luck — heavier crops are worth far more thanks to the weight-squared scaling.
- Being single-harvest, its mutation bonus is reduced — grow it heavy rather than relying on a huge mutation.
- Chase a high Rainbow or event mutation on it — see the full mutation list for what each multiplier is worth.
- Protect it before night — other players can steal crops from unguarded gardens.
