4TH OF JULY UPDATE
Grow a Garden 2 4th of July Update, released Jul 3, 2026. Here is everything that changed — 4 documented updates — plus how to plan around it with the GAG2 Calculator.
What changed
The 4th of July Update (July 3, 2026) is a holiday event with one decision that still matters: of its two new crops, Rocket Pop was a limited legendary while Fire Fern is permanent. Fire Fern remains available today — a 900 base-value Legendary at a 6M Sheckle seed, a solid mid-game multi-harvest earner — while Rocket Pop is a piece of event history for the players who grabbed it.
The event's mutation is the part with lasting economic weight. Sunburst weather brought the Ignited mutation at roughly ×63, which slots just below Bloodlit (×65) and well above the evergreen Rainbow (×30) — one of the top multipliers in the game, and a serious payday whenever Sunburst is live. Two pets rounded out the patch: the Bald Eagle at 5M Sheckles and the Butterfly with a +3% growth boost — modest, but a cheap early stack on multi-harvest plots. Boombox gear and Fourth of July crates supplied the cosmetics. The strategic lesson this patch taught the community is worth keeping: when an event weather like Sunburst is live, have your highest-base multi-harvest crop grown heavy in advance, because a ~×63 roll on a prepared plot is worth more than a week of routine selling.
