ECLIPSE UPDATE
Grow a Garden 2 Eclipse Update, released Jul 12, 2026. Here is everything that changed — 4 documented updates — plus how to plan around it with the GAG2 Calculator.
What changed
The Eclipse Update of July 12, 2026 reshaped the top of the GAG2 economy more than any patch before the Fall Harvest. It introduced the Eclipsed mutation (~×80), still the highest multiplier documented, rolled only during the rare Eclipse weather, plus the Glow mutation (~×70) in the same tier. Since mutations do not stack in GAG2 — one per crop — these two immediately became the ceiling every big sale measures against.
The crop side is just as heavy. Star Fruit arrived as the game's most expensive seed at 315,000,000 Sheckles for a 6,200 base value — a prestige buy prized as a Glow-mutation target. Sun Bloom (8,700 base) joined Moon Bloom in the Super weight class as its daylight counterpart, and the Secret-tier Eclipse Bloom fusion tops both at a 12,400 base value, second only to Mushroom's 13,000. The patch also added the Firefly, a Mythic pet with up to a +50% plant-size boost — and because sell value scales with weight squared, a size boost of that magnitude compounds hard on high-base crops. Strategy since this patch is simple to state and hard to execute: grow your best Super-tier bloom heavy, keep it protected, and hold your nerve for an Eclipse window.
