AURORA BOREALIS EVENT

Grow a Garden 2 Aurora Borealis Event, released Jun 19, 2026. Here is everything that changed — 4 documented updates — plus how to plan around it with the GAG2 Calculator.

What changed

The Aurora Borealis Event of June 19, 2026 was GAG2's first big post-launch weather event, and it set the template every later event followed: new weather, new mutation, new crop, new pet. Aurora Borealis weather rolls the Aurora mutation at roughly ×40 — a night event, rarer than the daytime weathers, and at the time the biggest multiplier in the game. It has since been passed by Ignited (×63), Bloodlit (×65), Glow (×70) and Eclipsed (×80), but a ×40 night roll is still well above the evergreen Rainbow (×30) and worth staying online for.

The permanent additions lean defensive, which fits a game whose core tension is night-time stealing. Venom Spitter is a Mythic crop (3,800 base value, 30M seed) that spits at intruders — a plant that earns and defends at the same time. The Bear is a Mythic defense pet that tackles, pins and throws raiders off your plot; at roughly a 0.2% wild spawn (or 9% from the Epic Egg) it is a genuine chase item with a 500,000 Sheckle reference value. The patch also added the Megaphone gear, Player Magnet and Pet Teleporters. If you are building an anti-steal garden today, this is the update your toolkit traces back to.
