The Squirrel is a Legendary forager that digs up random seeds for you — the higher-rarity counterpart to the Fall Harvest Turkey. Free seeds are always welcome, and at Legendary rarity the Squirrel is the more dependable of the two seed-diggers for players investing in the event world.
It will not defend your plot or boost mutations, so think of it as an economy convenience that trims the cost of restocking your rows. Earned with Leaves, its community trade value is not established yet; its worth is the steady trickle of planting material it hands you rather than any headline number.
