Gold is a Growth mutation worth a ×10 multiplier on a crop's weight-scaled value. In GAG2 a crop only ever holds one mutation, so Gold either is or is not on the card — it never combines with another multiplier.
How to get it
Source: Random roll, Gold Seed, or Gold/Midas Moon, which triggers during the Gold Moon weather event. Chance: ~1% natural.
- Gold and Rainbow can roll naturally, from special seeds, or be boosted by pets.

Gold is the floor of the value ladder at a ×10 multiplier, which sounds modest next to Frozen at ×20 or Rainbow at ×30, and in raw terms it is. What earns Gold its keep is consistency: it can roll naturally at roughly a 1% rate without waiting on any weather window, so it is the multiplier you actually see most often across a farming session. If you run a Golden Dragonfly pet, which doubles your Gold roll chance, it becomes the dependable backbone of a steady-income garden rather than a jackpot you chase.
The trick is to make each ×10 land on as much base value as possible.
